Theresa Vachon Field
Theresa Vachon Field, 93, passed away on March 25, 2023 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mrs. Field was born on August 30, 1929 near Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada and moved to Fort Pierce, Florida in 1936. She only spoke French at the time and proceeded to learn English.
Theresa attended St. Anastasia Catholic School in Fort Pierce for 10 years and graduated with her high school diploma in 1947. While working at McCrory’s in Fort Pierce she met Earle T. Field, Jr; They married in 1950. She worked in her family’s business, A. Vachon Groves in Fort Pierce for several years before Theresa and her husband Earle bought the Fittings Citrus Fruit Store in Fort Pierce in the 1970’s. They also owned Tomorrow’s Heirlooms, a quilting store many still remember today. She was an amazing quilter and seamstress and was also a wonderful cook and baker, winning many blue ribbons at the St. Lucie County Fair. She enjoyed gardening and loved flowers. Theresa was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her son, Daniel (Micki) Field of Fort Pierce, FL; daughters, Linda M. (Reece) Parrish of Fort Pierce, FL and Rose Earleen Wilkening of Gainesville, FL; sister, Lillian Robustelli; brother, Ovide Vachon; 6 grandchildren, Jamie Wilkening, Patrick Wilkening, Steve Wilkening, Eric Wilkening, Melinda Gwilt, and Jacob Field; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Fort Pierce.
