Thomas W. Cross, 71, of Fort Pierce, FL passed peacefully at his home on April 13, 2023.

Tom was born June 6, 1951 in Endicott, NY to Paul and Isabelle (Sterling) Cross.

Tom was civically minded, serving his country with the United States Air Force until his Honorable Discharge. After moving to Florida in 1970, coming from Binghamton, NY, he served his community with the City of Miami Beach Fire Department until his retirement. Tom moved to St. Lucie County in 2011 coming from Homestead, FL. He was a member of Saint Andrew Lutheran Church.

He was a member of Treasure Coast Woodturners and the American Associations of Woodturners.

Denise (Dee) will miss her devoted husband of 30 years. He will also be greatly missed by his sons, Kenneth and Clayton Cross, both of Homestead, FL; stepson, Kristopher Schlicht of Stuart, FL and daughter, Kelly (Benjamin) Haynes of Ft. Pierce, FL. He is also survived by his brothers, Duane (Linda) Cross of Reading, PA and Edward (Mary) Cross of Binghamton, NY. He was deeply loved by his granddaughter, Emma Schlicht and grandsons, Brandon (Caitlin) Mendez, Skyler Haynes and Spencer Haynes and his beautiful great-granddaughter, Averie Mendez.

In remembrance of Tom’s great love of trees, his family asks if you are so moved, to plant a tree in his honor in a place of your choosing.
