Thomas McDonough, age 88, died on February 10, 2011 in Fort Pierce, FL.
He was born in Portland, ME and moved here in 1988, coming from Manhattan, NY.
He graduated from Boston University in 1948. He served in the 8th Air Force, 389th Bomb Group, 564th Bomb Squadron. He was a Flight Engineer, Top Turret Gunner, and received the Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, and the European-African-Middle Eastern Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars and a Presidential Unit Citation.
He was president of New England TV Guide, which became part of the national TV Guide in 1955. He retired in 1988 as the magazine’s Director of Advertising.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Raili McDonough of Fort Pierce; son, Thomas McDonough Jr. of Hackensack, NJ; sister, Catherine Brydon of Fairfax, VA; brother, Richard McDonough of Portland, ME.
