Velva Cochran French, age 92, died on May 22, 2014 in Fort Pierce, FL. She was born in Elbert, West Virginia and moved to Fort Pierce in 1960, coming from Broadford, Virginia.
She was a Nurse’s aide, a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and she enjoyed singing, cross stitching and creweling.
She is survived by her son, James E. French of Fort Pierce; daughters, Jackie Shew (Charles) of Fort Pierce, Charlotte Cassell (Calvin) Summerfield, FL, Janis Walker (Bill) of Fort Pierce, Sondee Gail Selph of Fort Pierce, FL, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. French, and a grandchild, Debbie Lynn Walker.
