Virginia Dewey Thofner

Mrs. Virginia Dewey Thofner of Ft. Pierce passed away the morning of July 27, 2007. Mrs. Thofner has been a resident of Ft. Pierce since 1977 coming from Lighthouse Point, FL.Born in Greenwich, Connecticut on September 25, 1928 she was the daughter of George P. and Elizabeth Dewey. Virginia was a graduate of Greenwich High School Class of 1946, a member of the Catholic faith and lifelong homemaker.Virginia wed John E. Thofner, Sr. in 1948 and had three children: John Jetson, Scott Thofner and Lisa Thofner Kauffmann.Mrs. Thofner's survivor's include son John T. Jetson, daughter Lisa Thofner Kauffmann and her husband Jim. Grandchildren Trey Thofner; Adam Thofner and his wife Amy; Kyle Kauffmann and great-grandson Scott Thofner. She is also survived by her sister Mary (Mimi) Paklos of Ft. Pierce.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John E. Thofner, Sr. and son Scott Thofner as well as her brother George P. Dewey.A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Haisley Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
