Walter Frederick Grover

On a sunny morning on September 15, 2023, Walter Frederick Grover, took his last breath as he passed through this life and into the next. His final day started out in the usual ways, filled with his favorite things.  He took joy in the simple pleasures of life.  Each morning, he would greet Pixie his cherished dog, tend to his prized Koi fish and soon after fed the squirrels and bunnies in his yard while bragging about his beautiful mango tree and cactus plants.  He would then visit Home Depot looking for the day’s deals and frequently picked up flowers on his way home to surprise his beloved wife.

Walter was born on May 21, 1958 to his loving mother and father, Monica and Conrad along with his 2 brothers and sister. He proudly served as a member of the United States Army from March 29, 1978 through October 23, 1986. During this time, he traveled all around the world and experience different cultures and later was honorably discharged.  He later went on to spend the remainder of a career employed by Kroger. There he built a work family he loved and who loved him and a team he was very proud to be part of.

Walter had a great sense of humor and was sure to put a smile on the face of those he loved.   He had a kind and generous soul and more than anything else, Walter adored his family. He was a loving and devoted husband to the love of his life Kathryn, proud loving father to 11 children, and “Grampy” to 1000 (28) grandchildren.  Despite having such a large family, he made sure to check in with every member regularly and did it so effortlessly.  His family will always remember his boisterous voice when he would regularly call to see how their lives are going and to give his love. His Wife will always remember the unconditional love he had for her as she did for him.  The memories of Walter’s caring spirit love and support will live on in those who love him.  He will be deeply missed, never forgotten and always loved.
