Walter Robert Long
Walter Robert Long, age 84, passed away on November 5, 2014 in Vero Beach, Florida.
Walter was born on October 23, 1930 in Somerville, NJ to Walter and Inez Long. He moved to Fort Pierce in 1991 from Lebanon, NJ. He proudly served in the United State Air Force and retired after 27 years of dedicated service from the United States Post Office. He was an avid bowler and bowled a perfect 300 in 1998. He also loved trains and model railroading. He was a member of the COP within the community.
Walter is survived by his son, James Long of Glen Gardner, NJ; daughter, Barbara Chipps of Orrtanna, PA; sisters, Maryann Long of White House, NJ and Susan Bersch of Jacksonville, FL. In addition he is survived by grandchildren Matthew and Caitlyn Chipps and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Angel, and Kailynn. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Phyllis Long.
A celebration of life will be held on November 10, 2014 from 1-300PM at the Spanish Lakes Fairways Clubhouse, 6200 Nueva Lagos, Ft. Pierce, 34951.
