Wayne C. Maddalena, 80 of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away on October 19,2023: Port St. Lucie, Fl

Wayne was born on November 27, 1942 in Troy, New York to Henry and Helen (Kaddaras) Maddalena. He married Philameda (Jaluag) Maddalena on October 8, 2010. 

Wayne graduated from the University of Massachusetts as a Political Science Major. Dedicated to the global community, Wayne worked with the US Peace Corp.

Wayne was self-employed for 27 years as a Legal Translator and a passionate Jazz Musician for 57 years. Even though Wayne was a full-time jazz musician, he did enjoy painting and drawing in his free time. You could always catch him with trumpet in his hand or listening to his favorite jazz artists such as Chet Baker. Wayne never resisted an opportunity to take off his shirt and soak up some sun at the beach.

Throughout his lifetime he owned his own restaurant in Salvador, Brazil. Wayne played jazz at many important social events and met people such as Pele, the most famous Brazilian soccer player to ever live. He also worked for the Kennedys and worked with many other famous Jazz musicians from his era.

Wayne survived cancer at the age of 70 and lived every day after being cancer free to his fullest. 

Wayne is survived by his wife of 13 years, Philameda Jaluag Maddalena; children, Gian-Felipe Maddalena - Port St. Lucie, Florida and Nicholas Maddalena (Brianna) - Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; siblings, Paul Maddalena (Eleanor Maddalena) of Denver, Colorado, James Maddalena (Katie) of Peterborough, New Hampshire, Judi Debeuf (Jean-Pierre) of Borgomaro, Italy. 

He was predeceased by parents, Helen Maddalena and Henry “Hank” Maddalena, brother, Henry Maddalena and eldest son, Tony Maddalena.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 1PM with a Celebration of Life gathering from 2PM to 4PM
