Wendell Steven Fountain
Wendell Steven Fountain, 70, died November 21, 2024 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Fountain was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Florida.
Wendell retired as a supervisor from the St Lucie County Landfill after 25 years of dedicated service. His coworkers were part of his extended family. He worked as a heavy machine operator all of his life, which his father taught him at the young age of 16. He was a member of the Northside Christian Fellowship Church.
He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. He was always joking around, telling jokes and making people laugh.
Wendell was a man of God, he loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and air boating, and loved being with his family and friends. He was a huge NASCAR and FSU fan.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Denise Fountain of Fort Pierce, FL; daughters, Gina (Jason) Irons of Warren, OH and Kristy Fountain of Fort Pierce, FL; grandson, Blake Oelke of Vero Beach, FL; granddaughter, Hailey Oelke of Okeechobee, FL; sister, Kay (Frank) Guide of Vero Beach, FL; brothers, Kevin Fountain of Newton, NC, Harmon Fountain of Port St. Lucie, FL, and John (Brenda) Locke, Jr. of Fellsmere, FL; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Locke, father, Quintis Fountain, stepfather, John Locke, Sr., brother, Ronald Fountain and sister, Brenda Fountain.
Services: A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
