William Daniel Rance

June 27, 1933 — August 8, 2006

William Daniel Rance, 73, died August 8, 2006 at his home in Port St. Lucie West.
He was born in Omaha, Nebraska and worked across the country and abroad before retiring in Port St. Lucie in 1996.Bill was an engineering manager in the space program in Huntsville, Alabama and Cape Canaveral, Florida. He later managed industrial engineering operations of superconducting wire production in the Boston area.The recipient of the Florida Senior School Volunteer of the Year Award in 1999, Bill was recognized for authoring and teaching the award-winning Money Magic course on personal finance at Lincoln Park Academy, a St. Lucie County magnet high school.
He was past president of the Southeast Florida Chapter of the National Association of Investors Corporation, a non-profit educational group.
He conducted monthly Computer Assisted Stock Analysis Seminars to investor groups throughout Southeast Florida, the Bahamas and Barbados.
He is survived by Nancy, his wife of 20 years; sister Collette Rance Lee of Omaha, Neb.; daughters Collette Rance of Tangerine, Ellen Howard of Orlando; sons Patrick and Michael of Orlando; stepchildren Kathleen Rhodes and Stuart McCormick, and granddaughters Christina Rance, and Sarah and Constance Rhodes.
He was preceded in death by his son Thomas in 2003.
