William E. Wright

William E. Wright passed away July 17, 2006. He was born in Carrollton, Kentucky and resided in Ft. Pierce 45 years.He worked with the St. Lucie County School System where he served as Director of Exceptional Student Education for 19 years. In earlier years, he also served his community through Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club. Before his career in education, he served his country in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Captain, and later as Liaison Officer for the Air Force Academy.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kentucky, Masters and Specialist degrees in Education from Florida Atlantic University and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Miami. He worked in administration for Indian River Community College before, and Brevard Community College after, his employment with St. Lucie County School System.He was a member of Westside Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife, Martha, daughters, Cindy Thompson and son-in-law, Drew Thompson of Malabar, and Lisa Wright of Boca Raton. Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Wright of Kentucky and Dale and Gil Wright both of Titusville.Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Westside Baptist Church, 3361 S.
