William "Ray" Hall

May 28, 1945 — April 2, 2022

William “Ray” Hall passed away as a result of injuries from a fall. He was born May 28, 1945 in Moultrie, Georgia to J.B. and Nell Hall. Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a loyal friend. His family meant the world to him. He was a 1964 graduate of Dan McCarty High School. He earned his Eagle Scout and God and County Badge. He was especially proud of the fact that both of his boys earned their Eagle badges from the same troop. He served in the Florida National Guard and owned and operated Hall’s Service Station for over 30 years. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church, a 50 year plus member and Past Master of the Fort Pierce Masonic Lodge No.87 F&AM, and the Amara Shrine. Ray was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed working in his yard, woodworking, and riding in his ATV. Each summer he looked forward to going up to the North Carolina mountains to take the cool air and work around their cabin. He also enjoyed sports, but only if his loved ones were playing! Florida State Football was his go-to team since both of his sons went there. Old-time gospel music was his favorite music and please don’t make noise when it was playing! He and Betty went on many cruises and travels which are cherished memories
.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Betty, his sons Bill (Michele) and David, grandson Matthew, granddaughters Amber (Brandon) and Nicole, sister Sue (Bill) Zachow in Gainesville , and brother Robert (Carol in North Carolina). Also surviving him are 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Nell Hall, sister Mary Nell and brother John B. Hall, Jr.
