William L. Grissom

William Leonard Grissom, 81, died peacefully July 19, 2011 in Port St. Lucie with his wife, two of his sons and two of his daughters at his side.

He was born March 15, 1930 in Bunnell, Florida to Leonard and Rebecca Grissom and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1973 coming from Albany, Georgia.

He was a twenty one year combat veteran in the United Stated Air Force, serving three tours of duty in Vietnam. He was founder of Grissom Accounting PA, Inc. He was an active member of Westside Baptist Church of Fort Pierce and a member of the Elks Club #1520 in Fort Pierce.

Mr. Grissom is survived by his wife Pat Skinner Grissom, sister Sally Glissendorf, daughter Marcy Brennan, son William Leonard Grissom, Jr., daughter Jinger Grissom, son Garry Grissom, daughter Vangy Grissom Bruhn, and son Steve Grissom; and twelve grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, first wife Hazel Grissom, sister Haroldine King.

Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22nd from 1-2 PM with a service to be conducted at 2:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home in Fort Pierce. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
