William Germon Lanier, 83, died September 25, 2021 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Lanier was born in Stump Sound, North Carolina on August 23, 1938 to James & Zonie Lanier. He moved to Fort Pierce in 1980 coming from Miami Florida.
Prior to retirement, he worked for Sears & Roebuck. He had a very strong faith and was very protective of his family and was a loving family man. William loved fishing, traveling, and reading. He never met a stranger and loved to laugh and tell stories & jokes. He was always a true gentleman and was always thanking everyone for the care he received.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Martha S. Lanier of Fort Pierce, FL; daughters, Debbie (Neil) Allen of Kissimmee, FL, Sharon (Douglas) Rogerson of Port St. Lucie, FL; sons, Michael (Irene) Lanier of Fort Pierce, FL and Hugh Whelchel of Falls Church, VA; grandchildren, Lance, Brandon, Kami, Aaron, Meghan, Ethan, Cameron, Courtney, Grace, Isabella, and William; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Devin, Emilia, Evie, Eliza, Lincoln, & baby boy on the way.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bill, Jr and his first wife, Nelliemae Lanier.
Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm with a service to follow at 12:00 pm at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
