WILLIAM A. MACDONALD
Barefoot Bay, Florida
William A. Macdonald of Barefoot Bay, died October 11, 2012 following a courageous battle with multiple myeloma.
He was born on March 20, 1938 in the Bronx, New York to William J. and Louise Macdonald.
Bill was a member of Ironworkers Union Local #40 in New York City for 22 years. He worked for Boeing Co. on the Minuteman Missiles in North Dakota, Montana and Missouri. In 1980, he joined Grumman Aerospace in Stuart, FL. For 20 years he served as the Environmental Engineer, Safety Rep and Airport Manager.
Bill enjoyed many adventures in life with his family, flying his private airplanes and hot air balloon, living on his 43’ Trawler for 8 years and traveling the country in his 40’ diesel motor home.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 52 years, Mary Jane of Barefoot Bay, FL; sister, Carol and husband Phil Fahey of The Villages; sons, Andrew and wife Sandra of Colorado, John and wife Traci of Colorado and Jim and wife Lynn of Port St. Lucie, FL. He was affectionately known as “Grampa Bear” by his 7 grandchildren: Brooke, Allison, Jennifer, Heather, Collin, Bradley and Jaclyn. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill, we all look forward to many more adventures when we are together again.
There will be a Mass at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Barefoot Bay, on Monday, October 15th at 10:00 A.M.
