William Oliver Green, Sr., 87, died October 18, 2011 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Green was born in Rockledge, Florida and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1936.
He worked as a carpenter by trade. Later worked as a Building Superintendant at First Baptist Church in Ft. Pierce, FL and retired in 1986. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard.
He was a member of the Westside Baptist Church, Men’s Bible Study Class, and served as an usher for many years.
Preceded in death by mother, Carrie Lyles Green, father, Chapman U. Green, sisters, Cletia Davis and Julia Waldrop, and brothers, Chapman Green, Bob Green, Bailey Green and Homer Green.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Green of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughter, Thelma Green Tipton; sons, William O. Green, Jr. and Cecil E. Green, Sr. all of Ft. Pierce, FL; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carrie Woods of Gulf Breeze, FL and Peggy Van Sickle of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Lester “Buddy” Singley of Ft. Pierce, FL.

Services: Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 5-7 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A service will be conducted on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
