William Edward Peters Jr.

June 24, 1950 — April 15, 2025

Port St. Lucie

William Edward Peters Jr.,74, affectionately known as Bill, passed away on April 15, 2025, in Fort Pierce, Florida. He was a devoted father and grandfather.

Born on June 24, 1950, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Bill was the son of William and Betty Peters. He moved from Buffalo, New York, to Florida over 60 years ago and spent much of his life in Port St. Lucie, where he made his own quiet mark on the world.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Bill carried the discipline and grit he learned during his service throughout his life. He was a man who kept to himself, a bit of a loner by nature, but those who knew him recognized his strong work ethic, sharp skills, and quiet loyalty.

Bill worked for many years at Taylor and Munnell Machine Works and later dedicated over three decades to the Miles Grant Condo Association. A true jack of all trades, he delivered and repaired tractors, built custom kitchens and bathrooms, and could fix just about anything with his hands. Whether it was machines, homes, or engines, Bill had a knack for solving problems and building things that lasted.

In his free time, he found joy in the simple things—riding his motorcycles along Florida’s open roads and spending peaceful hours fishing, enjoying the calm of the water.

Though he lived a life out of the spotlight, Bill’s craftsmanship, independence, and quiet strength left a lasting impression. He will be remembered with respect and affection by those who knew him.

Bill is survived by his daughter Amber Crouch of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, sons; Jason E. Peters of Indiantown, FL, Shawn M. (Kristen Kondenar) Peters of Port St. Lucie, FL, sister; Judith A. Suit of Fort Pierce, FL, grandchildren; Tyler Peters, Thomas Peters, Tanner Peters, Christina Barnhart, Brandon Crouch, Justin Crouch, great-grandchildren; Zayden Barnhart, Torston Barnhart, and Soren Barnhart.

Service information will be announced at a later date.
