William “Captain Pete” Alfred Peterson, 75, died July 10, 2023 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Mr. Peterson was born in New York, New York and moved to Fort Pierce in 2013 from Kentucky.

Pete was in charge of the GTE Yellow Pages in Lexington, Kentucky for many years.  Then after many surgeries he obtained his captains license and sailed boats all around the world fulfilling his true dream. Captain Pete loved the water, listening to music, bird watching, camping, dogs, scuba diving and snorkeling.   He was a very generous, caring man and often donated to the ASPCA and charities that fought to end hunger. 

Survivors include his son, Scott Peterson of Lexington, KY; daughter, Lindsey Peterson of Fort Pierce, FL; ex-wife, Phyllis Peterson of Lexington, KY.
