William "Buck" E. Smith

William “Buck” E. Smith, 71, of Okeechobee, FL passed away peacefully May 19, 2023 at his home.

William Edwin Smith was born March 10, 1952 in Waycross, Georgia to William and Agnes (Fulwood) Smith. William was married in Okeechobee to Annette Ashcraft. 

William, affectionately known as Buck, loved the outdoors. Buck worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator. 

Buck loved Florida Gator Football and watching NASCAR. He was an avid fisherman. 

William will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Annette; loving children, Jacob and William Smith and Rebecca (Austin) Hight; stepson, Dustin (Tasha) Jensen; beloved grandchildren, Hannah (Joseph) Bologna, Waylon Jensen and Lennon Hight. A devoted brother, he will forever be in the hearts of his sisters, Nancy (William) Davis and Joeann Hough, as well as brother, Johnnie Douglas. He was predeceased by his parents, mother, Agnes (Fulwood) Smith and father, William Edward Smith, brother, Donald “Duck” Douglas and son, Scott Smith. 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 10AM to 11AM with a service to start at 11AM at the Haisley Funeral Chapel 3015 Okeechobee Road Ft. Pierce, FL 34947. Buck will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
