Lowell Smith passed away on August 3rd 2012.
He was the son of Martha Henderson and Le Grande Smith, born in Perry, Florida in 1924.
He was in the CCC’s as a young man, before he joined the Navy and rose to the rank of Motor Machinist Mate 2nd Class. He served in five theatres in World War II.
When he was discharged from the Navy he started his career as a Journeyman Electrician. He became an instructor for the IBEW and was fortunate enough to teach his brothers and son. Lowell was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, VFW, and the IBEW.
He was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Jacqueline, his mother, Martha Smith, father, Le Grande Smith, his sister, Dorothy Celentano, brothers, Charles, and Julian Smith. He is survived by one son, Bill (Wendy) Smith; 2 daughters, Sharon (Harry) Alexander and Claudia (Philip) Trew and one brother James Smith, seven grandchildren, Tina, Melissa, Rachel, Pam, Noel, Brian, and Victoria; 5 great-grandchildren Valkyrie, Jacqueline, Orion, Jackson, Athan, and one great-great-grandson, James.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A service will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park.
