Willie A. Turner, 89, passed away in Fort Pierce, Florida on August 22, 2023.

Mr. Turner was born in Gifford, Florida on September 16, 1933. After graduating high school, Will joined the United States Army and served his country honorably from 1956 to 1958.

He married Mattie Turner on June 07, 1958 and they were happily married for 59 years. Willie worked for FPL before getting his associate degree from IRSC in criminal justice. He went on to serve as a deputy sheriff for the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, retiring in 2001. In his free time, he loved fishing, attending services at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, and spending time with his friends and family. 

Willie was preceded in passing by his wife, Mattie Turner; his mother, Ida Spruell; and his half-brother, Eddie Turner. He is survived by his children, Felicia Turner, Sybrena Turner, Rowena D. Hashoush, and Stacy (Tonya) Turner all of Fort Pierce, FL; 9 grandchildren, including his first grandchild, Kimberly Turner; 24 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Fort Pierce, FL on Friday, September 01, 2023 from 12 PM to 1 PM, with a service to follow at 1 PM.
