Young D. Dickson, 85, died July 22, 2011 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Dickson was born in West Palm Beach, Florida and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1946 coming from Lawrenceville, Georgia.
He was a member of Westside Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and traveling. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army with Troop E of the 7th Calvary. He was in the Battle of the Southern Philippines Liberation. He received the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, Asiatic –Pacific Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, 3 Overseas Service Bars, Army of Occupation Medal of Japan, Victory Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal.
Survivors include his son, Daniel Dickson of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughters, Donna Dixon of Ft. Pierce, FL and Deborah Consalo of Palm Bay, FL; sister, Elsie Davis of Panama City, FL; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Estelle in 2010.
Services: Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM with a service to follow at 12:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
