Zana Barrett was born on July 12, 1925, and passed from this life on December 23, 2014, in Ft. Pierce, FL, at the blessed age of 89.
She came to Ft. Pierce from Adrian, MI, in 1959. Over her years, she served as pianist/organist at several churches in Michigan and Ft. Pierce. During World War II, she supported the troops by playing piano for a USO band. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church, and before that Dutton Memorial Presbyterian Church, both in White City. She was also a teacher’s aide in the work study program at Westwood High School. In her last years, she enjoyed the care and love of the staff at Abbiejean Russell Care Center in Ft. Pierce.
She is survived by her sons Robert (Pati) Barrett and David (Sheri) Barrett; brother Perry Brower; sisters Lola Patterson and Jowain Braddock; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Barrett, son Sam Barrett, and sister Jane Frazier.
