Zoltan "Zolie" C. Yavorsky

March 25, 1947 — January 17, 2024

Fort Pierce

Zoltan "Zolie" C. Yavorsky, aka "The Chief", 76, of Fort Pierce, FL, passed away on January 17, 2024. Born on March 25, 1947, in Perth Amboy, NJ, Zolie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a man of many passions and lived life to the fullest.

The only thing Zolie loved more in life than fishing was his family. Together, they traveled Florida and the Bahamas in search of adventure and the next big catch. Zolie's love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren knew no bounds. He was always full of life and couldn't sit still for too long, always seeking new experiences to explore with them.

As a young man, Zolie grew up on a farm with his Hungarian parents in New Jersey.  He would say that he had a misspent childhood skipping school to work on cars and playing pool which he taught his children to enjoy.  In 1969 he and his wife drove through Fort Pierce, FL on their honeymoon and fell in love with the town.  They finally lived their dream moving to Fort Pierce in 1978 where they resided for the rest of his years.

Zolie began his career as a mechanic at a young age and joined the Operating Engineers, local 825 in New Jersey. Over time, his passion for fixing cars evolved into fixing semi trucks.  Thanks to the encouragement of his wife in 1981, he started Yavorsky's Truck Service out of the back of his pickup truck. Through hard work and a strong business ethic, the company quickly grew into a bustling business. In the mid-80s, Zolie relocated Yavorsky's to Orange Avenue Extension, where his son now runs the business, carrying on his father's legacy.

When he wasn't working, Zolie could be found indulging in his hobbies of fishing, spending time with his family, traveling, and perfecting his boat, the Warrior. These activities brought him immense joy and allowed him to create lasting memories with his loved ones.

Zolie is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Lynn Yavorsky, his son, Michael Yavorsky and Daughter-in-law Rachel Yavorsky, and his daughter, Kristina Yavorsky Gibbons and Son-in-law Derrick Gibbons. He was a loving grandfather to Walker Yavorsky, Jaret Yavorsky, Delaney Yavorsky, Kate Gibbons, Aly Yavorsky, Isabella Yavorsky, Madelyn Yavorsky and great grandfather to Miles Williams, Prezley Williams, and Alaina Yavorsky. Zolie is also survived by his nieces, Kim Voorhees and Rebecca Kelly, nephew, Jason Bahr, his brother-in-law, Frederick Bahr, his sister-in-law, Patti Gallina and many beloved family members in TX. He was preceded in death by his father, John Yavorsky, his mother, Helen (Ellar) Yavorsky, his uncle, Frank Ellar and brother, John F. Yavorsky.

A memorial service will be held on January 27, 2024, at 11am at Haisley Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Following the service, a celebration of Zolie's life will take place, with details to be determined.
